How to View the Message Outbox and Delivery Status
The Message outbox is the full audit trail of every broadcast you've sent. It's your record for compliance, and the place to look if a customer claims they did or didn't receive a message.
Where to find it
Open More -> Message outbox. Broadcasts are listed newest-first.
What each column means
- Sent at: the timestamp the broadcast was queued.
- Targeted: total customers who matched the consent filter at queue time.
- Delivered: how many platform-side acknowledgements we received.
- Failed: how many devices the platform refused (token expired, app uninstalled, etc.).
- Opted out: how many recipients toggled the wallet pass notification off or revoked consent shortly after this broadcast.
Healthy delivery numbers
Expect roughly 95% delivery on a healthy customer base. A sudden drop to 70% usually means a chunk of customers have uninstalled the pass or rotated their device, not a platform outage.
Opt-out rate of 0-2% per broadcast is normal. Above 5% is a signal the message itself is too pushy or off-brand — customers are toggling notifications off or asking to be removed.
Frequently asked questions
Can I resend a failed broadcast?
No — the platforms (Apple/Google) deduplicate based on message intent. Send a new broadcast with adjusted copy instead.
How long is outbox history retained?
Indefinitely while your shop is active. On account deletion, broadcasts are removed.
